The Equity and Anti-Racism Strategy committed the Office of Equity and Anti-Racism (OEA) as the government lead to develop an action plan to address needs identified by the community.
The upcoming Action Plan will be an all-of-government effort and will be developed based on community feedback and input collected through engagement. Engagement will run from May 30 - July 31, 2024, and will be conducted by OEA and through partnered community-based organizations.
Members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community are encouraged to complete the survey below (available in both English and French) and participate in an in-person or virtual engagement session over the coming months.

Session #2: June 15th (Saturday) 1PM-3PM

From August-December 2023, OEA researched the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, completed a jurisdictional scan of other Action Plans for the community across Canada, and held conversations across government to better understand the current landscape for the community.
Engagement

OEA will be engaging with community to determine specific, tangible concerns and actions they would like to see throughout the plan.
Engagement Reporting

OEA will develop a "What We Heard" document to report on what was discussed by community through community engagement, and will work with government departments to determine what can be added to the Action Plan.
